WestHaven began as the vision of long time Orland residents and business people, Everett and Edith Schmidt. Upon their passing, the Schmidt's left a gift to their church to "build a retirement home". This simple one line bequest became reality in 2002 with the launch of WestHaven's first ever licensed residential care facility for the elderly.
Swift House, located on the corner of Swift and A streets, served as home for up to six dependent seniors until the opening of WestHaven Assisted Living at our current location in October of 2004.
WestHaven is making plans to open our newest community - Tje WestHaven Residence Inn: A Memory Care Community (lic. pending) in the Fall of 2009 on property located directly South of our current building.
Everett and Edith, both of who have passed away, continue to be a blessing to many in the northstate as a result of their selfless and generous gift has been multiplied many times over.
