WestHaven FAQs & Referrals

WestHaven Community Services Association

This unique program offers non-residents the opportunity to participate in WestHaven activities and special programming at the WestHaven site.  Members pay a small fee each month to gain access to our daily exercise, activities programming, and special events.  In addition, meal vouchers, good for any meal we serve – 365 days a year – can be purchased for a nominal fee by members of the WHCSA.  Residents residing in the adjacent Village at WestHaven planned adult community who lease through the WHCSA have their membership included at no extra charge.

Long Term Care Ombudsman’s Office

This state funded Ombudsman’s office provides families of residents a resource to report any suspected or known cases of abuse or neglect of the elderly in any care setting.   WestHaven receives regular visits – unannounced – from our own LTC Ombudsman.  Our building has posted the toll free number prominently in our halls to alert families to this powerful advocate and check to insure good resident care practices.  You may visit Passages online at www.passagescenter.org for more information or to report any suspected elder abuse.

Community Care Licensing

WestHaven is a state licensed and regulated community.  Our inspection records are available to the public and online at www.dss.ca.gov/ccl   We have an excellent reputation with CCL as a well trained, well managed community with an impeccable inspection record.

Home Health Care Services

WestHaven has adopted an aggressive pro-resident policy when it comes to the use of Medicare funded at home health services.  We work closely with families to insure that your loved one is given every opportunity to use home health services.  This approach puts skilled professionals – nurses, therapists, and specialized programming – in our building on a near daily basis.  Our staffs receive personalized training to permit follow-up of home health protocols to maximize the benefits of home health.  We currently have ongoing service agreements with numerous service agencies and providers.
